Fume Adsorbers
Designed for light duty coverslipping and staining areas, Fume Adsorbers use activated carbon media to adsorb organic odors and noxious vapors such as xylene and toluene. OSHA has set the limit for employee exposure to xylene and toluene at 100 parts per million over an eight hour workday. When operated as directed, the Fume Adsorber lowers xylene and toluene concentrations below this level.
Solvent vapors are trapped in the capillary-like channels of the carbon filter while clean air is recirculated into the laboratory. Fume Adsorbers require no ducting to the outside and are completely portable. Fume Adsorbers fit easily on countertops with overhanging cabinets. They can also be placed with the housing on top to accommodate shallow countertops. Fume Adsorbers are available in two widths.
